Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited ARaymond's site in Lörrach on Wednesday July 1, 2026. The visit was part of his Ortszeit Deutschland (“Local Time Germany”) initiative, during which he temporarily relocated his official seat from Berlin to the Three-Country Region (Dreiländereck) at the borders of Germany, France and Switzerland.

ARaymond products in focus
Accompanied by representatives of the City of Lörrach, including Mayor Jörg Lutz, and a press delegation, the President was welcomed by Audrey Raymond, Executive Vice President of ARaymond, and Jürgen Trefzer, Managing Director, ARaymond GmbH. The visit focused on vocational training, talent development, and the role of industrial companies in supporting the region's economic vitality.
During his visit, Federal President Steinmeier toured ARaymond's training center and met apprentices and students participating in vocational and dual-study programs. Through open exchanges with the young talents, he learned about their educational paths, professional aspirations, and day-to-day experiences at ARaymond.
The President also took part in practical activities, including operating a CNC milling machine and producing a snap fastener, paying tribute to the company’s heritage. The visit concluded with a group photo featuring apprentices, company leaders, and the President, highlighting the contribution of vocational training to the future of both ARaymond and the region’s industrial ecosystem.

The President's visit to ARaymond highlighted the important role industrial companies play in the economic dynamism of the Dreiländereck. In this region characterized by strong cross-border cooperation and intense competition for skilled workers, ARaymond continues to invest in vocational training, talent development, and long-term employment opportunities.
Founded in Grenoble, France, in 1865, ARaymond established a presence in Germany early in its history and has maintained a strong foothold in the country since then. Today, it operates sites in Lörrach, Weil am Rhein, and Eschbach.
What began as a manufacturer of patented snap fasteners has evolved into a global technology leader in fastening, assembly and fluid handling solutions for the mobility industry, as well as renewable energies, healthcare, construction, and agriculture. Employing around 8,000 people worldwide and welcoming between 25 and 35 apprentices each year in Germany, ARaymond exemplifies how family-owned industrial companies contribute to innovation, skills development, and the long-term prosperity of the region.
