ARaymond brings proven Fluid Handling expertise to the future of Data Center Liquid Cooling

As artificial intelligence transforms industries and accelerates demand for computing power, data centers face a critical challenge: managing the increasing heat generated by high-performance servers while maintaining reliability, efficiency and scalability.

With liquid cooling becoming essential to next-generation data center infrastructure, ARaymond is bringing decades of engineering expertise to this rapidly expanding market through a new portfolio of advanced polymer Universal Quick Disconnects (UQDs).

The introduction represents more than a new product offering. It marks an important step in ARaymond’s broader diversification strategy, applying proven technologies and manufacturing capabilities developed in established industries to address emerging challenges in high-growth markets.

Building on 160 years of ARaymond innovation

ARaymond enters the data center market with a strong foundation: 160 years of fastening innovation, 40 years of fluid-handling expertise and extensive experience producing precision-engineered components for demanding industrial applications.

The company's fluid connection technologies have already demonstrated their reliability in automotive and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) applications, where leak prevention, fluid cleanliness and consistent performance are essential.

Now, ARaymond is transferring that expertise to data center liquid cooling, where increasingly complex server architectures require hundreds of dependable fluid connections within individual racks.

"We are applying our dry-break experience to a rapidly evolving data center environment where reliability, cleanliness and the ability to industrialize at high volume are increasingly important," said Sébastien Frasse-Sombet, Senior Global Product Manager, ARaymond.

Rethinking UQD design through advanced polymers

Traditional UQDs have typically relied on metal construction. ARaymond's new portfolio introduces an alternative based on precision injection-molded engineered polymers, offering advantages in weight, design flexibility, manufacturing scalability and sustainability.

The new connectors are engineered to be 60 to 75 percent lighter than comparable metal alternatives. In a high-density AI rack containing more than 500 UQDs, that reduction can translate into approximately 100 kilograms of weight savings per rack, depending on configuration.

Beyond reducing weight, polymer technology enables greater freedom in connector geometry. Unlike conventional straight metal configurations, injection-molded UQDs can accommodate customized angles and designs that simplify installation, optimize available space and address increasingly complex fluid-routing requirements.

ARaymond's UQDs also incorporate proven dry-break technology, designed to prevent leakage and minimize pressure loss while maintaining coolant integrity and efficient system operation.

The initial portfolio includes sizes 04, 06 and 08, developed following Open Compute Project (OCP) guidelines to support interoperability with existing liquid-cooling systems.

Supporting more sustainable Data Center infrastructure

Sustainability is another important consideration as data center infrastructure expands globally.

ARaymond's eco-designed UQDs offer opportunities to reduce environmental impact through lightweight construction, resource-efficient manufacturing and material selection.

Compared with traditional metal manufacturing, polymer injection molding can require fewer resources and offers opportunities to reduce the carbon footprint associated with component production. ARaymond also offers bio-based material options to support customers seeking more sustainable solutions.

The reduced weight of polymer connectors can also contribute to lowering the overall material and structural demands of increasingly dense data center racks.
These benefits become particularly meaningful when multiplied across hundreds or thousands of racks in large-scale installations.

Expanding into new markets with proven expertise

ARaymond's entry into data center cooling reflects a deliberate approach to diversification: identifying emerging markets where its existing technologies, engineering capabilities and global manufacturing footprint can create meaningful value.

Rather than developing capabilities from the ground up, ARaymond is adapting proven fluid-handling solutions to address new customer needs, combining established reliability with innovative materials and designs.

As AI infrastructure continues to evolve, ARaymond is positioned to support customers throughout the product development process, from initial concepts and prototyping to industrialization and high-volume global production.

By bringing advanced polymer technology and decades of fluid-handling experience into the data center market, ARaymond is helping customers meet today's cooling challenges while building the foundation for more efficient, scalable and sustainable digital infrastructure.
