Brenda Lee shares story on women's empowerment at ARaymond

March 8 2025, a day for rights, equality and empowerment

International Women’s Day, celebrated on March 8, is not just a day to “talk about women”; it’s a day to raise awareness and take action for women’s rights and gender equality. In fact, the United Nations is placing rights, equality and empowerment at the heart of its 2025 celebrations. A program that fits perfectly with Brenda Lee’s vision. 
Brenda grew up and lives in Flint, Michigan, USA. She joined ARaymond in 1998 and has a strong message for any woman joining a male-dominated industry. 

An inspiring journey in the manufacturing industry

Over time, her role has progressed from production technician to material handler, then to die setter, and now to process development technician. Brenda now focuses on optimizing and improving manufacturing processes. When asked how being a woman in a traditionally masculine field has influenced her career, Brenda certainly has a lot to say.  
“Facing skepticism and resistance, I became more determined and focused. There were instances where my capabilities were doubted, and I had to continually prove myself. This journey has made me stronger and more resilient, but it's also highlighted the need for equal recognition and opportunities for women in the field."

Speaking out for women’s empowerment

Her story not only proves that the obstacles of physical demands can be overcome – thanks to smarter tools and methods. It also reveals the full potential of motivation and resilience for young women who receive the right encouragement and support from management. 
Aware of these efforts still needed, ARaymond strives to encourage women to take on various roles within the company. It offers support and mentoring, innovation and a environment conducive to women’s self-expression, fostering a culture of equity and diversity. These efforts encourage Brenda to support young women wishing to forge their own place in the manufacturing sector: “Believe in your capabilities and don't let others define your potential”!
